About Pool Club

Within Merivale's expansive portfolio of 90+ venues, Pool Club steals the limelight.

Situated atop the Ivy compound, Pool Club isn't your ordinary rooftop bar. It's a stylish playground, focused on a pool and private cabanas, carving a niche in the heart of the city.

Project scope

In the spotlight was Kirin, a rising star in Japanese brews, has been gaining traction in Australia in the recent years. Kirin holds a substantial history in Japan.

Seizing the opportunity, Merivale aimed to foster authentic connections, aligning with Kirin's core ethos. Thus, the Tiny Tokyo campaign was born—an amalgamation of arts, culture, travel, and cuisine to breathe life into the Kirin brand.

As the project Tiny Tokyo kicked off, it was decided that Pool Club to be the canvas for an immersive experience. The venue's unique design, reminiscent of a bygone era, laid the foundation for a visual feast, offering patrons a taste of the captivating Tiny Tokyo.

Rollout specifics

As the calendar flipped towards the deadline; Pool Club donned a new identity by transforming into a vibrant cultural hub. Harnessing the diverse channels of Merivale—both physical and digital—the campaign resonated with a discerning audience. The Tiny Tokyo activation wasn't just about luring foot traffic; it aimed to elevate awareness and amplify Kirin's footprint across Australia.

In the course of my role, I handled the following responsibilities:

  1. Conceptualising and creating digital and print assets of various scales; ranging from large to small, with the dual purpose of promoting the event and enhancing the interior aesthetics of the space.

  2. Orchestrating the systematic rollout of digital and print campaign materials
to ensure a seamless and effective promotional strategy.

  3. Providing oversight for the completion of finished artwork tailored for print, maintaining a high standard of quality and consistency.

  4. Crafting and illustrating elements dedicated to styling the cabanas at Pool Club, contributing to the overall ambience and visual appeal of the venue.

In summary, I had to assume multiple roles and tasks which included the conceptualisation and creation of diverse digital and print assets, coordination of campaign material deployment, quality control for print-ready artwork, and the crafting and illustration of elements to elevate the aesthetic experience of the cabanas at Pool Club.
